This abstract simple exudes a strong citrus smell. Having toured orange groves, I enjoy smelling the essence of citrus fruits. Their fragrance is refreshing and pleasing to me.
Intuitive painting allows me to try many different things when I choose. I purposefully worked with very thinned paints to on the smooth white background of the canvas, allowing the colors to breathe and give a sense of transparency in this painting. Working with a large palette knife, I gently pushed the very thin paints, moving them across the canvas. Thus, no palette knife marks may be found in this abstract. I felt saddened. Still not quite happy with it, I decided to utilize the tilting technique in fluid painting. Being pleased with the result, I decided to leave it and allow it to dry.
