This acrylic abstract is exploding with deep purples, warm yellows and bright green. The intensity of the colors is made even stronger against the bright white, very textured background. The combination of the deep purple and warm yellow reminded me of pansies. And the cold, bright white textured background reminded me of a heavy snow.
As I stared across the painting, my mind visualized pansies’ persistence to thrive. My mind envisioned a bed of pansies pushing up against the heavy snow, begging to be seen. Taking just the tip of a thin palette knife, I dotted paint across the canvas to symbolize their hardiness. Nothing easily stops a pansey though right? Except perhaps, a drought?
This abstract has deep, richly painted black sides and a gloss varnish was added upon completion, conveying a state of wetness. The abstract is signed, titled and dated on the back and ships with a Certificate of Authenticity. By signing the painting on the back this allows the painting’s orientation to be rotated in any one of four directions as desired. This alla prima, acrylic abstract is painted on superior solid birch wood cradled frame, (not plywood), with palette knives; measuring 18″ x 24″ x 1-1/2″ in size.
