Painted on a bright white, textured background, this acrylic abstract is bursting with intense reds and warm yellows while a little green helped to cool things down a bit. I do not plan my paintings as I paint intuitively; however, after I finished this one, I truly felt stumped by it. I could not “see” any one particular thing nor could I really put an emotion to it. Although I easily could feel the heat in the abstract as it burst forth from the textured, bright white, cold background.
So I reached out to social media to see if I was missing something. And apparently, I missed it good! Almost everyone who liked and commented on it stated that they could see Birds of Paradise in it. After having had it brought to my attention, I too, can now see the birds in the exotic heat of this abstract. Can you?
This abstract has deep, richly painted black sides and a gloss varnish was added upon completion, conveying a state of wetness. The abstract is signed, titled and dated on the back and ships with a Certificate of Authenticity. By signing the painting on the back this allows the painting’s orientation to be rotated in any one of four directions as desired. This alla prima, acrylic abstract is painted on superior solid birch wood cradled frame, (not plywood), with palette knives; measuring 18″ x 24″ x 1-1/2″ in size.
