There are times in life when one has to make changes. At times, it may be easy but most often they are difficult to achieve. I personally have held onto many things off and on throughout my life, the majority of which I did break and change for the good. However, there always seems to be that “one little thing” which we inexplicably allow to keep holding us back. It is FINALLY acknowledging it, accepting it, vowing to make the change and giving it up that allows you to break the heavy weight keeping you down.
This abstract is rich in thick, luscious blue hues with orange and yellow strikes symbolizing the strength needed to break free of what, to me, had become “normal and ordinary”. While the change was internal and not something people could easily see from outward appearances, it was finally overcome. And in doing so, a calmness that I was unfamiliar with entered my mind. And stayed! For more than just a few fleeting days or weeks. Or months. My goal is to have it last the rest of my life.
This abstract is painted on a bright white textured background and has deep, richly painted black sides. A gloss varnish was added upon completion, conveying a state of wetness. The abstract is signed, titled and dated on the back and ships with a Certificate of Authenticity. By signing the painting on the back this allows the painting’s orientation to be rotated in any one of four directions as desired. This alla prima, acrylic abstract is painted on superior solid birch wood cradled frame, (not plywood), with palette knives; measuring 18″ x 24″ x 1-1/2″ in size.
